LOVE BETWEEN FAIRY & DEVIL
I kind of forgot to post yesterday, where I intended to wax poetic about Love Between Fairy & Devil, which I finished the other night. The first volume was a bit slow. Admittedly read it just as a rehash of the donghua, though it’s different enough. But the second volume was exciting. Perhaps bec the story was different from the donghua. Largely also because the Dongfang Xingcang character in the novels is truly a devil and he plots against Lanhua, so when he slowly falls in love with her, it’s a surprise.
I love me a humbled MMC.
I’d also say that while the story is a bit more straightforward than the donghua, it makes more sense? I mean, I loved some of the side characters in the animation, but I was thinking it’s about to collapse under the weight of its own storytelling.
I’m also quite fascinated by how the three different adaptations—novels, C-drama (which I haven’t seen), and donghua—are different enough from each other. So I do plan to watch the C-drama next.
Only that it sounds so long, haha!
On a newer update, I started listening to the audiobook of ATMOSPHERE and finished it today. It was a good audiobook! Maybe more on this tomorrow.
