Reading Retreat: THE SHAMPOO EFFECT by Jenny Jackson
Fourth book I finished this weekend. Frankly started it a while back, so picked it up again somewhere 40% in. I haven’t read Jenny Jackson’s first book, but I have definitely read a lot of the books she edited. Among people who know, it’s a selling point to say that Jenny Jackson is the editor of a title. Anyway, reading The Shampoo Effect has made me curious about her first book.
To be clear, this book isn’t about shampoo, but is about a very close-knit friend group and an “outsider” in the person of a new, younger girlfriend who is also a writer trying to break into their friendship. I get that question sometimes when I talk about the book. Which, by the way, is still set to come out later in June, so I read a digital review copy.
I also did some yoga while reading it.
As in I found this Yin Yoga Read With Me channel, so I tried it. Twas not bad! Might do a bit more tonight.
