Reading Retreat: THE SWORD OF KAIGEN by M.L. Wang

In my last post, I had to stop 50% in bec I honestly had to grieve a character that another character also grieved.
I’m now 80% in, and it has become even more interesting with some character development of Takeru. Did feel that some parts could’ve been tighter, but wondering where this is all leading.
I just need to take another break to breathe. I think it’s wonderful when a book does that to you, though.

Welp, I finally finished the book. It was exhilarating. Though I feel like there was a long denouement at the end that kind of broke the pacing. But everything before that…wow. I admit I wept, because given who I am and what happens in the story, I would.
A little bit sad to learn that M.L. Wang is no longer writing anything in the Theonite universe, but I respect her reasons.
